Clyde Raymond Brush, 78 of West Union, IL, died at the home of his son in Palestine following an extended illness, Sunday, May 29, 2005. He was born April 5, 1927 in Duncanville, IL, the son of Lyman Brush and Lena Edna Taylor Brush. He was a carpenter through the Orange County District Council of Carpenters and retired after over 30 years.

He attended college and received an associate degree in engineering and was a Carpenter's

Apprentice in Perris California for 4 years. He was in the United States Navy during WWII, was a member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, the American Legion Post #69, and the Robinson Moose Lodge.

He married Lizzie Carpenter on August 31, 1946 and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Velma Mildred Brush.

Clyde is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Theresa Brush, Palestine, Lonnie and Margaret Brush Perris, CA; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and David Blair, West Union; 4 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; his brother, Lee Brush, Long Beach, CA.

Funeral services are Thursday, June 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Brother Junior Murray is in charge of services. Burial is in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, and the Amvet Post #33.
