Maxine Lavaughn Brashear, 88 of Noble, IL, formerly of Palestine, IL, died at 5:07 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 at Burgin Nursing Home in Olney, IL. She was born April 7, 1916 in Flat Rock, IL, the daughter of Francis Donahue and Inez Taylor Donahue Durst. She was a homemaker and a member of the Palestine First Christian Church.

She married Ralph Brashear on December 10, 1939 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1977. She was also preceded by her parents and her sister, Frances Ramsey.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Philip Lutz, Noble; 2 grandchilden, Alecia Lutz, Strasburg, PA and Clayton Lutz, Columbus, OH.

Funeral services are Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Marvin Leighty is in charge of the services. Burial is in Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 3rd and until service time on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the B. Y. P. Class of the Palestine First Christian Church.
