Dan C. Braden, 79 of Robinson, IL, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born August 21, 1927 in McLeansboro, IL, the son of Harmon and Pauline Johnson Braden.

He retired from Ickes Chevrolet-Cadillac in Robinson in 1998 after 33 years of service. He was a 50 year member of the McLeansboro Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Crawford County Car Club. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He enjoyed fishing, 4 wheeler riding, and car extravaganzas.

He married Patricia Ann Hargrave on November 15, 1952 and she survives. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Candy Goodwin Braden, Flat Rock; his two grandchildren, Justin Braden and Jennifer Kirchoff both of Robinson; 3 great-grandchildren, Coty Wright, Brittanie and Ryan Kirchoff; 2 sisters, Betty Jo Kinsey and Jean Webb, both of McLeansboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23rd at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial is in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Masonic services to be held at 8:00 p.m. following visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer society with envelopes at the funeral home.
