Carol Jane Apple, 74 of Palestine, IL, died at 3:30a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center in Robinson, IL. She was born July 19, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Basil Gaumer and Dorothy Bryant Gaumer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Palestine First Christian Church.

Carol married Kenneth Apple March 19, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1993. She was also preceded by her son Steve Apple and 2 sisters, Patty Wire and Betty Reedy.

She is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Pam and Ed Rich, rural Palestine and Debbie Fuller, Palestine; 2 step daughters, Phyllis Ware and her husband Bill of Kilmichael, MS and Paula Shaulis, Phoenix, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Corey Douglas, Craig Tracy, Kyle Fuller, and Ashley Fuller, all of Palestine; 5 step grandchildren, Karen Shivel, Rhonda Guttusso, Keith Ware, Cindi Samples, and Cathy Jarrett; 10 step great grandchildren; 1 step great-great granddaughter, her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Stan Musgrave, Rochester, IN; 2 sisters-in-law, Dorcus Schutte and her husband Walt, Phoenix, AZ and Bernice Weir, Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28th at Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Rev. James Delaney III is in charge of services. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Association. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of arrangements
