Paul was an electrician, working for at the Ford Motor Co. in Chicago Heights. Upon his return to Crawford County, he worked for L. S. Heath and Sons and then worked as an electrician in construction through the Electrician's Local #725 in Terre Haute, IN. He served in the U. S. Navy in the Far East with the Pacific Fleet during WWII. He was a member and past Commander of the Tinley Park American Legion and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132 and the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549. He was a member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge, a member of the Danville Consistory, a member of the Ainad Shrine and the Crawford County Shrine Club. He was one of the original organizers of the Crawford County Shrine Honor Guard. He married Camilla Joyce Miller on June 8, 1951

Services for Laura Florence Parker of Route One, Box 385, Lovington, are scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Chapel, with the Rev. Chuck Dennison, associate pastor, officiating.
Burial, under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home, will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker, 69, died Wednesday at Lea Regional Hospital.
She was born April 18, 1919, in Flat Rock, Ill. She married Alton B. Parker in Flat Rock on April 1, 1939. He preceded her in death Dec. 17, 1982.
Mrs. Parker was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hobbs, a member of the Senior Citizens Center, and a retired medical records secretary. She had lived in this area since 1955, having moved here from Illinois.
She is survived by three sons, Darrell D. Parker of Hobbs, Lloyd W. Parker of Clearwater, Fla., and A. Scott Parker of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Elaine Robertson of Eunice; two brothers, John F. Midgett of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Roy D. Midgett of Flat Rock, Ill; a sister, Dorothy Faith of Lawrenceville, Ill; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Lawrence A. Midgett, age 63, of rural Flat Rock, died suddenly
at Crawford Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack last
night (Monday). He was an employee of Marathon. He is
survived by his wife, Reba; three sons, Leon of Boulder,
Colorado, Larry of Gansevoort, New York, and Leslie of
Robinson; a daughter, Linda Cooley of Robinson; six
grandchildren; two brothers, Roy of Flat Rock and John of
Bridgeport; two sisters, Dorothy Faith of Lawrenceville and

He married Christina Carol Midgett on March 21, 1944 and she preceded him in death on January 24, 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lawrence Midgett, and sister, Laura Parker.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Terrye and Micheline Midgett, Hanover, Park, IL; 4 grandchildren, John W. & his wife, Rachel Midgett, Jeffersonville, IN, Terri Lynn Riley, Creole, AL, Lisa & Lendell Stout, Lake In The Hills, IL, Michelle Skonieczny, Lake In The Hills, IL; 6 great grandchildren; special friend, Delores J. Biddle, rural Vincennes, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Patty Midgett, Flat Rock; sister, Dorothy Faith, Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Tohill Cemetery rural Flat Rock.. Visitation will be Friday, March 5th from 5-7 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock. Masonic services conducted by the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge # #348 at 7:00 p.m. Military services will be conducted by the combined units of the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132, Robinson American Legion Post #69, Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, and AmVets Post #33 at the cemetery.

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are
pleased to recognize milestone events in the lives of the citizens of
the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Roy Midgett is retiring
from his duties as President of Robinson Unit #2 School Board of
Education on November 19, 2001; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Midgett was appointed to the Robinson Unit #2 School
Board of Education in 1969; during his 33 years of service to the
School Board Mr. Midgett has witnessed many changes, including the
construction of Nuttall Middle School in 1971, the renovation of each
school building in the district, and most recently he was instrumental
in the planning for the new high school which will break ground in the
spring of 2002; he has served as President of the Robinson Unit #2
School Board of Education at different intervals for approximately 15
years; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Roy Midgett has served on the Illinois
Association of School Board Directors for the past 16 years; and
WHEREAS, Although Mr. Midgett was sometimes at the center of
controversy he has been quoted on several occasions as saying,
"Whatever is best for the students"; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Midgett serves as a member of many organizations,
including as Pastor/Parish Committee Chairman of the South Union
Methodist Church, has been a Mason with a 3rd Degree Blue Lodge for 52
years, and served as a Trustee for the Flat Rock Fire Department for 33
years; and
WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure at Robinson Unit #2 School Board of
Education, Mr. Midgett served in the Merchant Marine during World War
II and served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant during the
Korean Conflict; in addition, he worked at the Texaco refinery in
Lawrenceville for 34 years; he currently raises cattle on farmland that
has been in the Midgett family since 1842; and
WHEREAS, Roy Midgett is supported by his loving and very proud
family, who include his wife of 48 years, Patty, and his children,
Chuck, Pam, and Carla; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SECOND
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Roy
Midgett on his forthcoming retirement from his duties as President of

ROY D. MIDGETT Roy D. Midgett, 77, of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1928 in Flat Rock, IL, the son of William A. Midgett and Lotus Rich Midgett. He retired from Texaco in 1985 after 30 years of service as an operator. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and the U. S. Army for 4 years following WWII. He served on the Community Unit 2 School Board for 33 years and was President of the School Board from 1975 until his retirement in 2001. He also served on the IL Association of School Boards for 16 years. He was a co-recipient of the Thomas Lay Burroughs Award for the state's outstanding School Board President. He was a member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge #348 for 55 years, a board member of the Flat Rock Fire Department for 36 years, the Fred B. Reavill American Legion Post #132 for over 50 years and was a member of the South Union Church for over 50 years. He married Patty Wesley on August 14, 1953 and she survives. He

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Denise McDaniel, Sheridan, WY; his daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Ted Stone, Robinson; 8 grandchildren, Blake Stone, Justin Stone, Jeff McDaniel, Cheryl Haflick, Mike McDaniel, Pat McDaniel, John McDaniel, Melissa McDaniel; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a waitress for many years at Mary's Cafe and the Clock Cafe. She was a member of the Moose, Eagles, and VFW.
She is survived by a son: Jerry (Brenda) Potts of Vincennes, IN, a brother: Gerald (Mary) Potts of Flat Rock, IL, 3 sisters: Doris Patterson of Bridgeport, IL, Anna Rae Hicks of Muscle Shoals, AL, Hazel C. Lee Tedford of Tampa, FL, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, 3 brothers, a sister, and a grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is Sunday from 5 to 7PM. Burial will be at the Lawreenceville City Cemetery.

Funeral services will be healed at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Brother Mark Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday preceding the services. Military graveside services will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V. F. W. Norma Jean (Weger) Nolting, 79, of Lawrenceville passed away Monday at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Born January 24, 1927 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Sammie H. and Martha (Faith) Weger. On May 16, 1952 she married Martin Paul Nolting. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1964.
One son: Terry G. Nolting of Lawrenceville, Il survives.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2:00pm at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation was from 12:30 to 2:00pm Thursday. Burial was at the Jones Cemetery.
Norma married Martin Paul Nolting. Martin died on 4 Apr 1964.

He was born September 15, 1962 the son of Willard O. Weger and Ruth I. Weger. He graduated from Robinson High School in 1980. He worked in production at E. H. Baare Corp. for 16 years.
He is survived by his father and mother, Willard and Ruth Weger; 3 children, Zachary Weger, Robinson, Wylie Weger, Robinson, and Megan Weger, Robinson; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Ron Mendenhall, Palestine, Doris and Terry Ramsey, Robinson, Judy Miller, Robinson, Brenda and Jim Rush, Fairfield, Jackie and Donnie Plew, Hutsonville; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Gene and Bonnie Weger, Annapolis, Alan Weger and his fiancée, Teresa Connour, Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard Glen Weger and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Charlie Rains officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Thursday preceding the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Weger Children’s Education Fund at First National Bank of Olney with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Loy Rich Jr., 82 of Robinson, IL, died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2007 at Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. He was born July 16, 1925 in Honey Creek Township, Crawford County, Illinois, the son of Loy Rich Sr. and Bertha Elizabeth Bradberry.
He was retired from Marathon Oil Co. in 1985 after 37 years of service as an Instrument Technician. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He was also a member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549 and the South Union Church in rural Flat Rock.
Loy married Carol Joyce Hout on October 3, 1948 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janet K. and Cecil Ray Lockhart, Vincennes, IN; 3 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Harry Rich, Robinson, Leo Rich, Pinkstaff, and Warren Rich, Flat Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Penny Lee Smith; his grandson; and 3 sisters, Doris Staley, Elsie Wesley, and Betty Phillippee.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the South Union Church, rural Flat Rock, with Jack Cunningham in charge of services. Burial is in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549, the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132, and the Amvets Post #33. Memorials may be made to the Pine Haven Children’s Ranch with envelopes at the funeral home and the church.
