Following is one of the Biographies and Stories which where gathered by Charles Sumner McKamy in the 1950s for publication in a Crawford County History Book. Unfortunately he passed away before the book was published.

Maud Nuttall, widow of John Nuttall, who was a son of Elijah B. and Martha A. Drake Nuttall, born April 19, 1887, in Crawford County, Illinois, three miles southwest of Flat Rock. Both of his parents and his paternal grandparents, Archelaus M. and Mary Francis Nuttall, were born and resided in Crawford County, Illinois all their lives.

We were married at Danville, Indiana July 26, 1911 and my maiden name was Maud Moon. To this union two children were born, Hugh Bryon, who passed away near the age of six years, and Wilma Lorene who lives with me in our home place in Robinson.

After Mr. Nuttall completed his education, his entire life was spent in school work, having taught seven years in Lawrence County, twelve years in Crawford County, nine years of which he was principal in the Robinson schools, sixteen years in the office as the County Superintendent of Schools of Crawford County, from which office he retired voluntarily in 1943. He served as President of the southeastern Division of the Illinois Educational Association.

He was a member of the Robinson Rotary Club and had served as President of that club.

He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Robinson and was serving on the board of Trustees of that church at the time of his death one September 22, 1947.
