Following is one of the Biographies and Stories which where gathered by Charles Sumner McKamy in the 1950s for publication in a Crawford County History Book. Unfortunately he passed away before the book was published.

James Elmer Mickey, November 28, 1879 -- January 10, 1947, one of ten children of John A. Mickey, born November 20, 1837, died April 5, 1892, and Miranda Roberts Mickey, born August 25, 1843, died August 6, 1915, daughter of John Rankin Roberts. His brothers and sisters being Nancy I. Mickey, March 12, 1860 to (?); Mary L. Mickey, July 30, 1862 to January 1894; W.O. Mickey, February 9, 1866 to February 27, 1945; Sarah A. Mickey, June 19, 1868 to August 18, 1902; Daniel J. Mickey, April 2, 1870 to September 23, 1952; John R. Mickey, July 9, 1872 to October 19, 1950; Lily M. Mickey, October 18, 1874 to December 11, 1889; Clerinda E. Mickey, January 22, 1876 to (?) and Andy S. Mickey, July 5, 1881, still living.

James Elmer Mickey spent a period of time near Russellville, Illinois, his parents locating there after coming from Kentucky. On January 18, 1910 James Elmer Mickey and Lena I. Tohill, born November 15, 1885, were married. She dying October 24, 1952. Two sons were born of this marriage, James T. Mickey August 25, 1910 and Barnard O. Mickey July 11, 1919, both living in Crawford County.

James T. Mickey married Mary L. Dudley October 19, 1935, she being born September 21, 1913 in Crawford County. One child being born to them, Joyce Rene Mickey July 24, 1936.

Barnard O. Mickey married Laura Inez Fuller July 25, 1945, she being born July 20, 1920 in Crawford County. Two children being born viz: Paul Fuller Mickey February 25, 1947 and Norma Jean Mickey born February 4, 1951.

During World War II James T. Mickey served in U.S. Naval forces and Barnard O. Mickey with the U.S. Army.
