Following is one of the Biographies and Stories which where gathered by Charles Sumner McKamy in the 1950s for publication in a Crawford County History Book. Unfortunately he passed away before the book was published.
David W. Holderman, farmer, Hutsonville, was born in 1859 in Montgomery County, Ohio, died July 12, 1935. His parents, Jacob and Lydia Ann Holderman sold their farm which is now the Soldier's Home in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Hutsonville in 1865, at the close of the Civil War.
They bought the William Draper property on the hill adjoining the W.B. Hurst place.
In 1881, David W. Holderman and Anna Adams were married. They lived on the Holderman farm one half mile south of Hutsonville on the Lincoln Trail.
After the death of his mother in 1912 the family moved to the Holderman home on the hill where Miss Beulah Holderman now lives. She taught in the Hutsonville School system thirty-three years.
Other children of the family are Mrs. Hazel Dissette, in the City Health Department of Indianapolis, Indiana. Perry, Harvey and Hannah, deceased. The grandchildren live in the west; David and Gordon Holderman, sons of Perry and Lillian (Gellatly) Holderman, of Corvallis, Oregon; Hazel Jennings, Ann Trittipo, Beulah Stamper, Elizabeth Jackson, and their mother, Nell (Phelps) Holderman of San Diego, California.
