Old Heater Graveyard

 

Champaign County Genealogical Society Quarterly: As published in Volume 8, Issue 1

Located in the center of a cornfield across the road from the Yearsley Cemetery, and is completely overgrown. It is in Section 23 of Somer Township. The following four stones were copied in 1958. It is said that a second Civil War veteran, other members of the Kirby family, and Elias Kirby, grandfather of Alfred Brownfield, are also buried here.

Heater, John, son of J. & C. Heater died Nov. 7, 1853 10 yrs
Heater, Sarah E., daughter of J. & C. Heater died Aug. 23, 1852 4 yrs 3 m 23 da
