Brumley Cemetery

 

Champaign County Genealogical Society Quarterly: As published in Volume 8, Issue 1

In Section 11 of Urbana Township, and was transcribed by the D.A.R. in the 1950s1 but three years ago the cemetery was not located. The D.A.R. reported that the cemetery still contained a few monuments, some broken, and that it was in a dilapidated condition among the trees. It was platted by Thomas Kyle in 1876 and the earliest burial was that of Samuel Brumley, who came to Champaign County in 1830 with his grown sons Daniel and William.

Brumley, John C., son of W. & J. Brumley died Oct. 30, 1851 6 months 7 days
Brumley, John H., died Aug. 25, 1859 28 years 10 months 11 days. "He was a Baptist"
Brumley, Samuel, died Jan. 19, 1850 52 years 11 months 1 day. "Member of Baptist Church"
Brumley, William H., died April 23, 1859 46 years 7 months
Gilliland, Children of A.J. & E.E. Gilliland, 11Twin sons dead born11 born July 13, 1851
