Tennis Gabriel

Tennis Gabriel is a native of Norway. In 1854 he came to the United States, was eleven weeks making the voyage, the provisions running short, and the passengers and crew came near starving. He first stopped at Beloit, Wis., where he worked as a laborer. He was married in Wisconsin to Gunlah Hansen, by whom he has had eight children, four living- Ole, Henry, Tillina and Gearhardt. In the spring of 1863, he came to Worth county, where he has since resided. When Mr. Gabriel came to this county he was a poor man, but has worked and accumulated a fine property, and today is one of the well to do farmers of the township. He owns 320 acres of land valued at $30 per acre. Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel are members of the Lutheran Church.
