J. D. Benjegerdes

J. D. Benjegerdes, farmer, was born in Grand Duchess of Oldenburg, Germany, Aug. 30, 1840. He came to America in 1843, and lived in Washington Co., Ill., until 1853, when he went to Garnovilla. He lived there until 1879, when he came to Worth county, settling on section 32, Lincoln township, where he owns 160 acres of well improved land. He is one of the present school directors of district No. 6, Lincoln township. He was married April 9, 1869, to Kate Walker. She died March 15, 1870. Mr. and Mrs. Benjegerdes have had two children-Lena and Henry. Mr. Benjegerdes was married April 14, 1872, to Christena Hinch, born in Hamburg, Germany. They have had four children-Charles, Mary, Fred and Dederick. He is a Lutheran in his religious views.
