Town information:
Located in Oto Township in Woodbury County, Iowa. Named for a band of Sioux Indians and an Indian Chief. Named by Samuel R. Day. Incorporation date: 7 July 1883. Railroad arrived in 1915, continued until 1942 when the Illinois Central came. The first post office was established 26 September 1864. The town was first settled by John McCauly.
