Submitter: Richard Harrison WALBRIDGE/OVERMAN

Does anyone know of a WALBRIDGE or OVERMAN family living in or near Clarinda ca. 1865? Levi Walbridge and Emma Overman are listed in their son's marriage record as being born in Clarinda, IA. Levi was born about 1855, Emma probably about the same time. I can't find Walbridges in Page Co. census indexes. There was a Levi Walbridge born about the right time in Cedar Co. so I wonder if Clarinda is wrong and should be Clarence?

My ggrandfather DANIEL R.WHITNEY died Feb 1, 1912 at the State Hospital in Clarinda, Iowa. The Death Certificate had very little information on it. The informant was the attending physician. The reason given for death was Apoplexy with a 9 month stay at the hospital. The death certificate said place of burial was to be Omaha (So far we have not found it)
Is this hospital still in existence? Would they have any records I could obtain?
In the 1900 census he and his wife(d. 1906) were living in Harlan, Iowa near or with his son Jessie Whitney, a lawyer. His daughter, my grandmother and a widow, was living in Woodbine, Iowa.

SIR:
I HAVE SENT A QUERY TO YOU REGULAR MAIL, BUT HAVE NOW DISCOVERED YOUR PAGE COUNTY INTERNET SO WILL ALSO TRY THIS.
A 1927 NEWSPAPER ARTICLE RECENTLY GIVEN TO ME BY MY 90 YEAR OLD AUNT INDICATES THAT MY PARENTS, EVERETT E. WHITHAM OF COOK, NEBRASKA, AND GERTRUDE A. MCAULIFFE OF TECUMSEH, NEBRASKA WERE MARRIED AT CLARINDA, IOWA, PRESUMABLY IN AUGUST, 1926.
SINCE THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN AURA OF SECRECY REGARDING THE MARRIGE OF OUR LATE PARENTS MY SIBLINGS AND I ARE ATTEMPTING TO DETERMINE THE VALIDITY OF THE ARTICLE REGARDING A MARRIAGE AT CLARINDA. I WAS BORN JULY 3, 1927, AND THE AUGUST 1926 DATE OF MARRIAGE WOULD LEGITIMIZE MY DATE OF BIRTH. HOWEVER, WE ARE NOT AT ALL CERTAIN OF THE FACTS. AS YOU WELL KNOW THE MIND SET OF PEOPLE REGARDING OUT OF WEDLOCK BIRTHS WAS MUCH DIFFERENT AT THAT TIME THAN NOW.
ANY ASSISTANCE YOU MAY PROVIDE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I am seeking information about my great grandparents, George W. WHITTINGTON and Lucy ABERG. They were married in 1886, probably in Illinois, and had a daughter Eva born in 1887 in IL and a son Louis born in IA in 1888. George died in Shenandoah, IA in 1908, and his death certificate indicated that he was a widower. Lucy was still alive at the time of the 1900 census, so she must have died sometime between June 8, 1900 (the date of the census) and April 10, 1908 (date of George's death). I know George's parents were William B. WHITTINGTON and Nancy TIDWELL (or KIDWELL). Can anyone identify Lucy's parents? I know they were born in Germany (her father) and NJ (her mother). Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I recently ran across a web site that had your address on it and it mentioned you were researching WILSON in Page County. I have recently started doing research on that part of my family and wondered if you knew anything about a Margaret Wilson that had married Isaac Pike Davidson. I know of one daughter they had, Sarah Ann Davidson who was born in Kentucky. The family must have moved to Iowa at some point in time after Sarah's birth. I don't have any birth or death dates for either Isaac or Margaret. Is this of any relation to the Wilson family you're researching? Thanks for your time.

The names on some of the pictures are listed in your Abraham Wilson Genealogy. Below is a list of names I have:
