Submitter: Cliff Thomas JEFFERS, Family

I am researching the JEFFERS of Taylor and Page counties. I am trying to determine the parents of Coy JEFFERS (died 29-Feb-1988) Ray JEFFERS (died Aug-1978) and Rol JEFFERS (died Nov 1977). The Social Security Death Index places the death of the three above as Clarinda, Page Co. Ray and Rol were triplets along with Roy.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciate along with the name(s) any JEFFERS living in or near Clarinda. Thanks
Cliff Thomas

Submitter: Christy Petersen JENSEN, J.C.

Do you have list of marriage records for Page Co. I've been looking for where my parents were married and have not had any luck so far. A brother thought maybe Shenandoah, Ia. Their names were Jim or Jens Christian Jensen and Lazeta Mae Struthers. They were married October 4, 1930. I'd appreciate any help.
Thank you,
Christy, see my "Contents" page where to write or obtain Vital Records. ..prs

Submitter: Arthur J. Burch JEWELL Family

I am researching my JEWELL ancestors, and have traced some to Page County, IA. The 1900 Federal Census for the city of Shenandoah enumerates:

  • Whitney JEWELL, born Aug 1821 in New York
  • Mary M. JEWELL (wife), born Mar 1825 in New York
  • Freeman ? JEWELL, born June 1845 in New York
  • Matilda JEWELL (wife), born Apr 1838 in Ohio
I have information on Whitney and Mary, representing early years in New York, but would appreciate any information regarding their migration to Iowa, and lives thereafter.
As the census has Freeman ? and wife Matilda living next door to Whitney, I suspect this is their son. I have no information on this family. Would appreciate any information (dates of birth, marriage, etc). As the 1900 census indicates Freeman to be age 54 and wife Matilda to be age 62, and married only 3 years, I suspect this is likely a second marriage. Maiden name(s)? for Matilda (and ?) would be essential to identifying other descendants. Any and all information gratefully appreciated.
