1895 Bourbon Co., KY. Bourbon Co., KY. (KYGENWEB)The place of burial for John,1 Duncan is still not known. His Will probate was definitely done in Nodaway Co., Mo., administered by his son, John Wayne Duncan over the years 1848, 1849 and 1850. REF:#20] It appears that John died 27 Dec 1846, on a trip/visit to Paris, Kentucky. Was his body cremated or shipped back to Iowa? It is a fact that John and Elizabeth had moved in the spring of 1845 to a farm in Page County, Iowa (near the town of Siam, Ia.). REF:#20] Further, there is a Lot #133, Row#___ at Shearer Cemetery, which was owned by an I.J. Dungan according to an old Plat Book. (however, an old partial index shows the last name as Duncan). Could this be the burial location of John J. initial he "I" could have been a J. Also, it would be logical for Elizabeth, his wife, to be buried in the same cemetery as her husband, John. Elizabeth is buried in Row 15, #5 at Shearer. REF:#20] Possible Record Problem! No DUNGAN or I.J. DUNCAN, buried in Shearer Cemetery, Siam, IA. is in Taylor Co., IA., no record of any DUNCAN's buried in the Siam Cemetery. the Shearer Cemetery is about 6 miles east of Braddyville, Page Co., Iowa. or 5 miles west of the Siam, Taylor Co., Iowa cemetery. Both cemeteries are just off of the J-55 highway...prs 1850 Census, Buchanan Twp., Page Co., IA.
