Historic Places

Odebolt's Historic Bank

W.P. Adams, owner of Fairview Farm (commonly known as "The Adams Ranch") was responsible for building this distinctive building in 1914-1915.  He closed it during the Depression and it sat empty from 1934 to 1967. Odebolt State Bank bought the unused bank building in 1967 and operated in the building for the next 40 years under Ralph Griffin & his son Neil Griffin. In 2008 the building was purchased by First State Bank. They made the decision to restore the building to its former glory, realizing the historic importance of its almost original condition. While renovation was in full swing, a movie production crew took over the different areas of the building to film the movie "Peacock". It was released on DVD in spring 2010.
