Francis Story

     Francis Story was born 1849 at South Mountain, Ontario, Canada, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Story.  Francis spent his boyhood in Canada.  In 1870 he married Caroline Brown.  In 1872, they came to Iowa and located in Sac County, near where the town of Odebolt was later located.  Lumber for their first home was hauled from Vail, Iowa.
     Children born to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Story were Jane (Mrs. George Jackson); Ben; Eliza (Mrs. Elmer Mill); James; Millie, a twin to William, died in youth; William married Grace Sheldon; Anna (Mrs. Daniel McCorkindale); and Frank married Vinnie Orendorff.
     Mrs. and Mrs. William Story were parents of Lawrence, married Helen Babcock: Bess (Mrs. Phil Cockrill); Dorothy (Mrs. Ben Clark) and William, Jr. married Lois Ogren.

Adam Stueckrath

     Adam Stueckrath and his wife Elizabeth (Moeller) Stueckrath came to America from Germany in April, 1891.  They returned to Germany and in 1892, brougth Elizabeth's mother, Katherine Moeller, whose husbnad had died in Germany. 
     Adam and Elizabeth's first children were born in Germany, Chris being five, and Andrew two and one half years, when they came to America with their parents.  Children born in America were Mary (Mrs. James McGonigle); Louise (Mrs. Patrick Malone); Anna (Mrs. Fred Eckert); Fred; and Henry.
     Chris married Stella Manning and were parents of Helen (Mrs. Russell Peters);  Bernice (Mrs. Harry Cook); and Wesley married Joan Pewsey.
     Mr. and Mrs. James McGonigle are parents of Robert, married Eunice Lindstrom; Eugene, married Louise McFarland - Virginia Kulberg - Jewel Wiggins; Faye, married Edna Gilbertson; and Donald, married Margaret Martiens.
     Mr. and Mrs. Pat Malone were parents of one son, William.
     Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eckert were parents of Betty (Mrs. Mervin Platt).
     Fred Stickrod married Agnes Bihrer and were parents of Wayne, and Delette.  Delette died in infancy.
     Henry, married Carrie Wilken and their children are Don; Ruth (Mrs. Lyle Gronemeyer); Ann (Mrs. Dean Einspahr); and Jack.

 

Henry Stueckrath

     Henry Stueckrath, born 1858 at Kongiwald, Germany, died 1941 at Odebolt.  He was in military service in Germany in the infantry division from 1880 to 1883.  In 1890, he married Martha Elizabeth Schriebre, born 1865 in Harlefeld, Cassel, Germany.
     In 1893 they came to America on (the)steamship Munchen and landed in Baltimore, Maryland.  They came directly to Sac County and settled on a farm near Odebolt.  In 1900 they moved into Odebolt.
     Their three oldest children were born in Germany.  There were seven children in all:  Bertha; Martha (Mrs. Elmer Nitzsche); Carl, married Ella Brogan; Adam, married Hattie Cunningham; Frank, married Doretta Rose; Henry married Fern Smith; Elizabeth (Mrs. Glen McFarland - Mrs. Glenn Boerner).
     Mr. and Mrs. Nitzsche were parents of Lucille (Mrs. Ray Downing).
