Cook No. 8

Jane and Jack Hogue, of Prairie Pedlar, are looking for photos and people who attended the old country school, Cook #8, located in Section 27, Cook township, part of the original Cook Ranch.  Mr. Cook deeded land to the county in 1902 to have a schoolhouse built for the children of his tenants. Jane and Jack have restored the school house and use it for garden seminars and craft workshops in the summer. Jane has done considerable research trying to find out more about the school and the students that attended it and has found little information. If you were a student, know people that attended the school or have photos of the school or classes from the school, please contact the Hogues at [email protected].
