50th Wedding Anniversary Gathering of
Anders "Montana" Anderson and  Ida Charlotta (Wester) Anderson

Warren Hanson loaned the below photo for scanning and said it was an occasion honoring Mr. & Mrs. "Montana" Anderson, who are seated at the front.  The year was 1927.  Warren said that the location was somewhere in the vicinity of the Arthur Baptist Church, a few miles south of Arthur, Iowa.  There was also a hand-written sheet of paper identifying some of the people on the photo.

Please see a newspaper article below for a description of the 50th wedding anniversary gathering for Mr. and Mrs. Anders Anderson, held on March 15, 1927 that we believe describes the occasion for the photo.  Since there were so many Anderson families, the "Montana" was probably a nickname.   In addition, see information on the family from "Kiron Kountry" web site, below.

The clickable written identification list on the left is transcribed as follows. The names don't exactly match up, but it gives an idea of the people that are present in the photo.
