A Look at a Christmas Past
GAMBLE'S TOYLAND, 1947

Does anyone remember, as a kid, looking at the Gamble's window in Odebolt around Christmas and wishing and hoping? From the looks of the toys, prices, and items on the other pages of the ad, it must have been about 1947. 

Note that the ad offers a "Lay-By Plan" - no one got in credit card debt back then!  At that time the store was in the Cut Rate building on the northwest corner of Main and Third streets.

Note the "A Thrifty Christmas is a Happy One"!

Note the "Make Your Own Records" .. I didn't realize you could do that way back then!
