Car Washing Bee Nets $173 The car washing bee held
Saturday at the Friday Skelly station and sponsored by Roose post, American
Legion, proved to be a worthwhile project
About 40 Legionnaires assembled to wash the 106 cars that were brought to the
station during the day. Proceeds amounting to $173 were turned over to the
swimming pool fund. Use of the station and equipment was donated.
Harry Iverson furnished and operated a P.A. System druing the event. Also
assisting in the car washing project were Dean Richardson, Jerry Iversen and
Gerrit Dresselhuis.
Albert Prestin, post commander appreciates very much the cooperation of all who
assised in the fund-raising project, including those who brought in their cars
and those who did the work. |

The Skelly station, owned by Lawrence Friday, was located at !st and
Main, north of the monument circle.
