Will of John P. Fear dated November 7, 1865
In ____________of the _______vanity of life
I John P. Fear being of sound mind but declining health do make this my last will and testament.
First I bequeath to my three sons Winfield S. Fear, Eleazar
Fear and Henry C. Fear all the Real Estate and personal property. I die seigiel of Except
the Household furniture provided they pay the following Legacier.
Second, I direct that the Mother and the three sons own and possess the said household
furniture jointly.
Third, I bequeath to my daughter Mary
Martha 25 dollars.
Fourth, I bequeath to my second daughter Lucy 25 dollars.
Fifth, I bequeath to my third daughter Eliza Jane three hundred dollars is to be
due on the day of her marriage if that should occur before the final settlement.
Sixth, Winfield may if he chooses at the expiration of the time when the Legacies
are to be settled require and recieve his portion of the personal property separate
the Real Estate to be divided when the youngest Henry becomes of age.
Seventh I direct I direct that the foregoing legacies be settled and paid within five
years after my decease.
I direct that the three boys and their Mother choose the executor of this will.

in the County Court of said County as the last will and testament of John P. Fear the testator therein
Named said will being so allowed as established and admitted to probate subject to the registar of Iowa. Is
Electa Fear widow of said deceased and was ordered to be recorded as such.
