Myron Perry Hooker
Myron Perry Hooker is called
"Perry" in the family album. He was the first born of Myron and Nancy Hooker. He
was born in 1836 in Chautauqua, NY. It appears he must have moved with his
family in 1854 to Delaware County IA. He married on Mar 28 1857 in Delaware
County. His wife was the widow Harriet Rachel Cole and she was from New York. It
looks like she brought three girls into the marriage who were born in Michigan.
She was 26 and he 24 in 1860 Census -but she was 32 and he was 21 according to
the marriage info. They had an infant David Stout in 1860 Census and in 1870
they had a David Stout Sr living with them. (Puzzlement as to who he was.) It is
interesting to note that his middle stepdaughter Melinda married his brother
Benjamin Franklin Hooker. Later both brothers moved to Clay County Texas and
appeared in the 1880 Census there. The youngest Cole girl was with them and so
was their son Stout. I could not find Perry after 1880. His son D S was married
and lived Fort Worth, Texas in 1900. The children information from the 1860
follows: Meloinna Cole (1847 MI); Mealinda Cole(1850 MI), Harriet Cole (1854
MI), David Stout Hooker(1860 Delaware Cty, IA).
