ADAMS, Andrew J.; Farmer; Sec. 25; P. O. Kellogg; was born in Franklin Co., Ohio; February 18, 1837, and came to this county in 1867.  Owns 160 acres of land, valued at $25 per acre.  His wife Hannah E. CRAVEN was born in Wayne Co., New York State in 1844, and they were married October 21, 1869; there [sic] children�s names are Minnie Adelta, Clarence Elmer, Beldy Guy.  Mr. ADAMS enlisted in Co. C, 2d W. V. I. Rgt., April, 1861, and served with the Army of the Potomac all through to the close of the war; was in thirty-six battles and twenty-two skirmishes, was wounded twice in the right leg; was promoted from private to Second Lieutenant in 52d Wisconsin regiment; afterward promoted to First Lieutenant, and mustered out as such on September 28, 1865.

HOLBROOK, was born in La Salle Co., Illinois, July 31, 1833, and married August 31, 1855; their children�s names are Emma Nancy, born July 30, 1856; Charles Alexander, born March 11, 1858; Hiram E., born April 1, 1860; Grant, born January 1, 1864; Joseph W., born October 27, 1867; John W., born March 13, 1871.  His first wife Rebecca WILSON, was born in Champaign Co., Ohio, August 15, 1831.  Married June 7, 1849; had two children � Jerome C., born March 14, 1850; Julius, born August 9, 1851.

BROWN, James M.; Farmer; Sec. 34; P. O. Kellogg; born in Washington Co., Ohio, December 18, 1841; came to this county in 1869; owns eighty acres of land, valued at $25.*  His wife Sarah E. MORRISON was born in Orange Co., N. Y., they were married in 1866; have four children James E., Carrie M., William Henry, Gertrude May.  Mr. Brown enlisted in Co. E, 13th I. V. I., September, 1861, served six months, discharged through deafness; re-enlisted in Co., G, 20th I. V. I. Rgt., and served to the close of the war; was at the siege of Vicksburg, and siege of Fort Morgan, Alabama, and in charge on Fort Blakely, and at the capture of Mobile, Alabama.

BRUNSON, John; Farmer; Sec. 26; P. O. Kellogg; was born in Clermont Co., Ohio, June 30, 1823; came to this county in 1866.  Rents eighty acres of land.  His wife, Almira M. SMITH, was born in Toronto, Canada, June 27, 1827.  Married December 9, 1847; have one child � Nettie, born July 19, 1858.  He enlisted August 3, 1862, in Co. F, 12th Illinois V. I.; was in the battle of Corinth October 4 and 5, and at the battle of Jackson, Miss., and in innumerable skirmishes through Alabama; and with General Sherman on his famous march to the sea, serving to the close of the war.

Y., Oct. 17, 1841, and came to this county in 1866, and owns 330 acres of land, valued at $30 per acre.  He is a Democrat in politics.  His wife, Julia E. BENNETT, was born in Same county June 14, 1844; they were married Nov. 8, 1865; their children�s names are James E., born Sept. 6, 1866; David Homer, July 10, 1869; John Reverdy, Sept. 19, 1871; Thurman P., Aug. 10, 1875; Galen Gladstone, June 22, 1877.  Mr. and Mrs. CRAVEN have been school teachers in New York State and also in Iowa.  He has been County Supervisor.  Is an enterprising man and has his large farm under a high state of cultivation.

Kellogg; was born in West Virginia July 15, 1833, and came to this county in March, 1871; owns 160 acres of land, valued at $25 per acre.  His wife, Louisa McNEAL, was born in Indiana Oct. 18, 1833; they were married Oct. 18, 1858, and have four children�Jessie May, born Jan. 19, 1868; Jane, Nov. 18, 1870; Charles W., Nov. 3, 1871; Lutie P., Jan. 23, 1876.  Mr. DeGARMO enlisted in Co. H, 33d Iowa V. I., Aug. 9, 1862, and was in the battle of Saline River or Jenkins� Ferry, and was wounded there; served three years.  He has been Justice of the Peace in this township four years.

DODGE, Lambert H.; Farmer; Sec. 9; P. O. Newton; was born Oct. 5, 1827, in Rockland, Sullivan Co., N. Y., and came to this county, in 1875.  His wife, Julia Ann LAWRENCE, was born April 21, 1833; they were married March 17, 1853, and have five children � George A., born March 8, 1854; John H., Aug. 27, 1855; Levi S., July 3, 1857; Anna J., July 25, 1859; Israel I., Feb. 16, 1864.  Lambert H. and George A DODGE rent 160 acres of land and have it under a high state of cultivation.

Newton; was born in Jefferson Co., Ohio, March 26, 1836; came to this county in 1869; owns eighty-five acres of land, valued at $25 per acre.  His wife, Anna O�HARRAH, was born in Ireland March 18, 1839; they were married Sept. 25, 1857; have eight children � Jennie, Julia, Eva, Clara, Lettie, Waltor, Forrest and Maud.  Mr. DOWNS has his farm under a high state of cultivation.

Newton; was born in Michigan, in 1844, and came to this county in 1869, and rents 160 acres of land.  His wife, Rebecca Rhea JENKINS, was born in Lancaster Co., Penn., Sept. 26, 1847; they were married Nov. 7, 1869, and have two children�Cora Letitia, born Aug. 9, 1870; Eola Lenora, born Aug. 4, 1875.  Mr. JONES enlisted in Co. A, 30th Ind. V. I., in 1861, and was under the commands of Gens. Buell, Howard, Sherman and Thomas to the close of the war, and was in their principal battles.

JACOBS, Thomas H.; Farmer; Sec. 27; P. O. Kellogg; was born in Berks Co., Penn., July 21,1830, and came to this State in 1858, and to this county in 1870; owns eighty acres of land, valued at $30 per acre.  He is Episcopalian in religion, and Republican in politics.  His wife, Maria MORRISON, was born in Orange Co., N. Y., Feb. 14, 1844; she is a Presbyterian; they were married Oct. 5, 1865, and have three children �Harriet Amelia, John Howard and Royal Clifton.  Mr. JACOBS enlisted in Co. C, 2d I. V. C., in May, 1861, and was in the battles of Corinth and Shiloh, and was skirmishing continually; served three years in the war for the preservation of the Union.
