Bartholomeus Pieterse Hugens Vrooman married Ariaantgen Hendrix, both of Valkenburg.

  1. Pieter Meese Vrooman, born about 1614, married secondly Volckie Pieterse, widow of Gerrit Jan Stavast, who later married again, in 1685, as a widow, to Adriaan Appel.
  2. Jacob Meese Vrooman born about 1616, married Elisabeth, widow of Teunis Cornelise Swart
  3. Hendrick Meese Vrooman
  4. Maritje Bartholomeus Vrooman born about 1620
Hendrick Meese Vrooman (Bartholomeus) birth date unknown. Hendrick died 8 Feb 1690 in Schenectady NY. "kild and burnt" in the massacre

Jan Vrooman (Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) baptised 15 Feb 1652/53. Jan died aft 24 Apr 1732. He married Geesje Veeder 4 Jul 1680, daughter of Simon Veeder.

Adam Vrooman (Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born in Leiden, Holland, 14 Sep 1649 and naturalized in the province of New York in 1715. Adam Vrooman married three times, firstly to Engeltie Barentse Blom. Engeltie and her infant child were killed in the Schenectady Massacre. Adam married secondly in 1691 to Grietje Ryckman, widow of Jacques Cornelise Van Slyck, and thirdly, 13 Jan 1697 to Grietje Takelse Heemstraat. Adam Vrooman died 25 Feb 1730. [additional text]

Simon Vrooman (Jan, Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born 25 Feb 1681. He married Eytje Delamont 14 Oct 1717, daughter of Jacob Delamont. He made his will in 1752. giving to his son Johannes the "tan pits" near "the City mill" and to son Jacob his house and lot.

Pieter Adamse Vrooman (Adam, Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born in NY 4 May 1684. Pieter died 20 Dec 1771 in Schoharie NY, at 87 years of age. He married Grietja Isaccse Van Alstyne 2 Feb 1706. He settled on what was called Vrooman's land in Schoharie with his father; made his will 1768, proved 20 Dec 1771

Johannes Vrooman (Simon, Jan, Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born 23 May 1718. He married twice. He married before 1762 Volkje, daughter of Jan Barentse Wemple and sister of Antjewemp (Glen). Volkje died 7 Feb 1760 and he married secondly, Sarah Van Antwerpen 31 Jan 1762.

Abraham Vrooman (Johannes, Simon, Jan, Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born 12 Sep 1762. He married Machtelt Visscher 23 Nov 1790, daughter of Teunis Visscher.

NOTE: It was initially believed that this was the Jannetje [Jane] Vrooman who married Isaac Morris but this appears not to be correct. It appears that Jannetje was the daughter of Abraham Pieterse Vrooman, son of Pieter Adamse Vrooman.
Marthynus Vrooman (Barent, Pieter, Adam, Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born in NY 6 Dec 1745. Marthynus died 1818 in NY, at 72 years of age. He married Sautje Susanna Swart of Schoharie about 15 Jan 1769.

  2. Josias Vrooman was born 4 Mar 1773
  3. Sara Vrooman baptised 15 Apr 1777
Josias Vrooman (Marthynus, Barent, Pieter, Adam, Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born 4 Mar 1773 and died 24 Apr 1841 in Sharon NY(?), at 68 years of age. He married Nancy Low abt 1793.

    Josias Vrooman and Nancy Low had:

  1. Josias A Vrooman was born 24 Dec 1799.
Josias A Vrooman (Josias, Marthynus, Barent, Pieter, Adam, Hendrick Meese, Bartholomeus) was born in NY 24 Dec 1799. Josias died 27 Apr 1867 in Oxford WI, at 67 years of age. He married Elizabeth Fritcher 10 Jan 1821.

    Josias A Vrooman and Elizabeth Fritcher had:

  1. Nancy Vrooman was born in NY 7 Apr 1822. Nancy died 5 Aug 1850 in Darrien WI, at 28 years of age. She married John J Mereness abt 1842.
