DOUGLAS COUNTY MUSEUM OF HISTORY & NATURAL HISTORY
The Douglas County Museum of History & Natural History has a collection of over 22,000 photographs, several hundred manuscript collections and over 2,000 other pieces of printed material. Much of this information is useful to genealogists. All of the photographs and an increasing portion of manuscript records are searchable on an internal database. Researchers are welcome to send e-mail to Fred R. Reenstjerna (research librarian ) at [email protected].
GENEALOGICAL COUNCIL OF OREGON
The goals of the Council are to:
Membership in the Council is on a calendar year basis and is open to any
individual, genealogical society, or non-profit organization interested in
the purposes of the Council. There are two membership meetings annually,
the third Saturday of April and October. The meetings are held in various
cities throughout the state.
The Council publishes a Newsletter that contains information about
genealogical societies, resources, and publications.
The Council sponsors the only state-wide genealogical conference. This year
it will be in Salem at the Quality Inn on October 4th, 5th, and 6th. Myra
Vanderpool Ghormley is the featured speaker.
Dues: $10.00 per year.

SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF OREGON PIONEERS
SDOP is a non profit orgnization founded June 13,1901, basically for the preservation and promotion of Oregon history. Membership is open to anyone who's family came to Oregon before 14 Feb 1859. To qualify for membership must be able to prove when your ancestor's came to Oregon, like a Donation Land Claim number. Membership fee is ten dollar's a year plus a one time fee of ten dollr's for a membership certificate, if you want one. There are lower fee's for junior member's.
