Our Eggleston and Allied Families. Compiled by Elsie Eggleston Kempton and Ione Eggleston Ward. Saginaw, Mich. : E.E. Kempton, 1975. 126 p. : ill., facsims., map. Reproduced from typescript (photocopy). Chiefly family group sheets. Some ancestors, relatives, and descendants of Oscar Perry Eggleston. He was born in 1861 at Litchfield, Michigan, the son of David Emery Eggleston (1839-1918) and Anna Buck Anderews Eggleston (1842-1906). He married Florence Hadley (1865-1896) in 1886 at Concord, Michigan. They had two daughters, 1887-1891, born at Litchfield. He married 2) Mrs. Addie Slaytor Chestnut, widow of Andy Chestnut. They had a son born in 1910 at Hillsdale, Michigan. He died at Hillsdale and was born in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Litchifeld, Michigan. Descendants listed lived in Michigan and elsewhere. Descendants include: Beggot Eggleston (1586-1671) of Yorkshire, England, and Windsor, Connecticut -- Corp. William Graham (1756-1824), a Revolutionary War soldier, of Massachusetts and Saratoga County, New York -- John Cheney (d. 1666) of England and Roxbury and Ipwich, Massachusetts. Includes index. Includes as a supplement, at the end of the book: A branch of the Eggleston family (and their descendants) : family charts (direct genetic lineage) / H. [Howard] Miller, 1975. Howard Miller (1900-1975) was born at Saratoga Springs, New York, the son of Lelah Eggleston Miller (1876-1928) and Robert I. Miller (1881-1912). He married Pearl Weaver (1909-1961) in 1928 at Renssalaer, New York. They had three children, 1929-1940, born in Albany County, New York. Record traces Eggleston ancestors back to Beggot Eggleston (1586-1671). Record includes its own index.
