Pond Creek Township....

Pond Creek Township was formed in April 1859 after Christian County had been cut off from Greene County. Its present boundaries include all the 36 sections within T28N andR24W. It forms the extreme southwest corner of the county and is bounded by Lawrence County on the east, Christian County on the south, Center Township on the north and Brookline Township on the east. The major waterway is Pickering Creek with its numerous tributaries.

The early settlers of the township were: David Reynolds, 1834, Edward Blades and William McDaniel, 1836, Samuel Garroute, 1837, and Anthony and William D. Garroute, 1838.

There are no towns, communities or settlements in Pond Creek Township.
