| 23 March 1931 Death Notice Mrs. Julia P. Roberts Mrs. Julia P. Roberts, wife of Mr. J.A. Roberts, died at the family home in Sylvester Friday following an extended illness. She was a native of Randolph County and was 56 years of age. Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Mr. H.H. Roberts of Virginia, one sister, Mrs. Giddens of Albany and several brothers. The funeral was held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Burford and Rev. Baskin. Immediately after the funeral service the body was carried to Terrell County and buried in New Bethel Cemetery near Dawson. The Spurlin Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. He had served as a registrar for Barrow County and was past vice-president of the Winder Lions Club. A native of Ashburn, GA, Ms. Willis lived in Sylvester, GA, where she was a bookkeeper for a number of years working for Foy Equipment Company and as a clerk for the City of Sylvester. She then worked for Leonard Gilberg Fabric Store in Albany as a bookkeeper, and then served as a nurse’s aide for several years for the Sutton, Hill and Whitfield families. Ms. Willis has lived the past 30 years in Columbus, GA, where she was a member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church, until recently when she moved to Albany to be closer to her daughter.
