reside? W. H. Eady, in Worth County, Sylvester
2. How long in state and when
have you been a resident? 56 years; since 1848
3. When and where were you born?
In 1848 in Dooley County.
4. When and where and in what company and regiment
did you enlist and serve? In 1864 in the month of July in Isabella, Ga. In Co. F
10 Ga Regiment.
5. How long did you remain in such company and regiment? About
8 months.
6. When and where was your company and regiment surrendered and discharged:
April 1865, discharged at Thomasville, Ga.
7. Were you with and present with
your company and regiment when it surrendered? Yes.
8. If not present………..N/A
9. How much can you earn per annum by your own exertions or labor? About $100
10. What has been your occupation since 1865? Public Works.
11. Upon which of
the following grounds do you base your application for pension, vix; first, “age
and poverty,” second, “infirmity and
poverty,” or third, “blindness
and poverty?’ Age, Poverty & Infirmity.
12.If upon the first ground,
state how long you have been in such condition that you could not earn your support.
If upon the second,
give a full and complete history of the infirmity and its
extent. If upon the third, state whether you are totally blind and when and where
you lost your sight. I have Rhemuatism in the right knee cant walk hardly at times.
13. What propery, real and personal, or income, do you possess, and its gross value?
None
14. What property, real and personal, did you possess in 1901, 1902 1903,1904,
1905, 1906, and 1907, and what disposition, if any, by sale or gift, have you made
of same? None, except old Horse in year 1901, & he died.
15. In what County
did you reside during those years, and what property did you then return for taxation?
In Worth Co. none except 1901 an old horse.
16. How were you supported during
the years 1901-1907? My labor.
17.How much did your support cost for each of
those years and what portion did you contribute thereto by your own labor or income?
I do not know as don’t …..(can’t read)
18. What was your employment
during years 1901-1907? What pay did you receive in each year? Public Works.
19. Have you a family? If so, what composes your family? Give their means of support.
Have they a homestead, or other property? Their ages and how employed? Yes Wife &
4 children - by my labor, a wife 4 (can’t read) babbies ages 10, 7, 4, &
1 years no employment. Note: this answer was on the 1907 form…You need to
use 1907 year for age calculations.
20. Are you receiving any pension? If so,
what amount and for what disability? None.
21. Have you ever made an application
for pension before. Yes
22. How many applications have you ever made and under
what class? Poor, Indigent.
Sworn to and subscribed before me this the …(this

Note: I combined a 1904 application with a 1907 as parts
of each was unreadable and I attempted to keep spelling and punctuation as in the
application.
W. H. Eady is the only headstone in the Eady Cemetery
