Jacob Mercer
b. 4-12-1753 in
Currituck Co., NC, and died 8-6-1837 in Shady Dale, Jasper Co., GA.
According to "Georgia Revolutionary War Soldiers' Graves," page 376, he
served in the Georgia Troops and fought at the Battle of Kettle Creek.
He served in Capt. Heard's Company in Col. Dooley's Regiment. He is buried at Providence Baptist Church, Shady Dale, Jasper Co., GA, and has a Rev. War marker.
