SEPTEMBER 21, 1787

Quote from "Georgia Place Names"

"Jack's Creek, Walton County, rises just north of Monroe and flows easterly, crosses the upper tip of Morgan County and empties into the Apalachee River.  This stream was named for Lieutenant John "Jack" Clark, son of Elijah Clarke.  The younger Clark was wounded in the Battle of Jack's Creek against the Indians here September 21, 1787."
