Henry Hardin

Henry Hardin (Harden) was born May 8, 1750 in Johnston County, North Carolina, the son of Henry Hardin, Sr. and Judith Lynch.  Henry Hardin  died May 8, 1843 in Walton County, Georgia, and is buried at the Old Baptist Cemetery in Monroe, Georgia. 

Henry married Sarah Cook in Feb 1781 in North Carolina, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Effy Jones Cook.  Some records show a second marriage to a Matilda Jones.  

Sarah Effie Cook Harden was born June 11, 1761 in North Carolina, and died June 7 1835 in Walton County, Georgia. I have found no record of her burial site. 

According to information from ancestry.com, Henry and Effy had nine children born between 1781 and 1804, they were:

Athy Effy, Judeth, Elizabeth, Mark, Benjamin Cook, Edward Jones, Rebecca Thomas, Clarissa Warren and Harriett Hargrove Hardin. 

Henry served in the North Carolina Militia (see application for pension for more information)

Listed on page 33, "Land Grants to Georgia Revolutionary War Veterans" as drawing land in the 1827 lottery in Coweta County, Georgia, granted Nov 9, 1831.

Listed on page 326, "Roster of Revolutionary Soldiers in Georgia, Vol III, Names and Ages of Pensioners From Georgia" in 1840 as age 89 residing in Walton County.

Listed in the 1830 census for Walton County, Georgia, total 17 persons, 11 of which are slaves.
