CIVIL WAR--CLEMONS, WILLIAM R. is actually CLEMENT, WILLIAM RILEY, who was a soldier in Company G, 52nd Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, the "Alleghany Rangers." He was listed as a private on 4 Mar 1862. He was captured at Vicksburg, Miss. on 4 Jul 1863 and paroled there in 1863. He was listed as "missing" at Dalton, GA in 1864, perhaps leading to the confusion of his death. WILLIAM RILEY CLEMENT did not die in the Civil War. He had two children before the War and came home to father four more. He died in 1911 and is buried in Mt. Pleasant 2 Church Cemetery.

CIVIL WAR--Alfred HARRISON, younger brother of F. A. Harrison (listed in the table above)
"'F. A.' was Franklin Alexander Harrison, son of Bentley and Elizabeth Harrison who lived in the Coosa District of Union County since 1850. Alfred Harrison joined up with the 6th Ga. Cav.--"The Blood Mountain Tigers"--Company F. in May of 1862 at the Blairsville Courthouse. He died at Greeneville Hospital April 17, 1863, probably in Tennessee as that is where his unit fought. These were my G-Grandfather's brothers."
