Directions to Thomaston, From Atlanta
Go South on I-75 SOUTH to US-19 (Exit 77). Go South on US-19. (NOTE: Watch for the stoplight south of Griffin where US-19 turns right while US-41 continues straight.) Continue on US-19 until it enters Thomaston's Courthouse Square. Total distance: 62.7 miles (100.9 km). Approximate length of trip: 1 hour, 28 minutes.

Directions to Thomaston, From the South (Valdosta, Georgia)
Go North on I-75 NORTH to US-341 (Exit 43). Go Northwest on US-341 to US-80. Go West on US-80 to US-19. Go Northwest on US-19 until it enters the Courthouse Square.


To Pettigrew-White-Stamps House, From Thomaston Courthouse Square
Go South on US-19 for approximately one half mile. The PWS House is the white house on the right, on the corner of US-19 and Thurston Avenue. If US-19 becomes 2-way before you find it, you have missed it; the house is about one block north of the place where the road becomes 2-way.

To African-American Museum, From Thomaston Courthouse Square
Go East on US-36 (toward Barnesville). Two blocks from the square US-36 turns left onto Bethel Street. One block later US-36 turns, but you continue North on Bethel Street for approximately six tenths of a mile. Turn right onto Cedar Row. The Museum is in the middle of the first block, on your right.

To Archives, From Thomaston Courthouse Square
Go south on US-19 for 2 blocks (from square). Turn left and go 1 block. Turn left again and go north for almost a block. The Archives parking lot is on your right.
