Noah Freeman, of Hillcrest, dies at home
Noah Freeman, 42, of the Hillcrest community, died at 1 a. m. today at his
residence after an illness of three months.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p. m. tomorrow at the Hillcrest Methodist
Church. The Rev. Lovic Bryant, pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Heard
County, will officiate. The Rec. Felix Waddell, pastor of the Hillcrest
Methodist Church, will assist.
Burial will be at Shadowlawn cemetery with Nathan Gross, Ralph Scarbrough,
Travis Freeman, Julian Freeman, Fred Allen and Darnell Cole serving as
pallbearers.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Freeman of Hillcrest; two
daughters, Mrs. Grady Allen and Mrs. Ridley Woodruff, both of Hillcrest; three
sons, Roy Freeman and Otis Freeman, both of Hillcrest; a sister, Mrs. Nancy
Bryan of Cusseta, Ala.; two brothers, Oscar Freeman of LaGrange and Jim Freeman
of Macon; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Freeman was born in Randolph Co., Ala., but had lived at Hillcrest 25
years. A retired textile mill employee, he was a member of the Macedonia
Baptist Church of Heard County. He was employed by Dunson Mills for a number
of years.
Maddox Funeral Home is handling arrangement.

Noah was the son of Eli Jackson Freeman and Elizabeth "Eliza" A. Davis. He
married Sarah Odessa Elizabeth Arrington on 27 May 1897, most likly in Heard
Co., GA as that is where Sarah parents were living, though Sarah's family also
had previously lived in Randolph Co., AL.
This family has been a chanllenge to trace due to the courthouses burning in both
Heard Co., GA and Randolph Co., AL.
