ROBINSON, Rias
looking for info on RIAS ROBINSON. one of his sons, William L. (Littleton, we think) "DOCK" Robinson, is my ggggfather. I am placing them in Troup Cty because Wm's brotherm John James Robinson, in a list of 1907 confederate veterans living in Escambia County, AL, lists his birthplace as "Whitesville, Troup County, GA". In the 1870 Conecuh County, AL census, William & James are listed with their families. Need to find them in some earlier census. Probably in GA. William was born around 1834/35 We do not know his date of death other than we have a copy of the inventory of his estate dated 1884 from Monroe County, AL. RIAS was bron about 1810. Someone sent me info that he married LUCINDA HENDERSON around 1829 in Jasper County, GA. (I have not been able to confirm that) RIAS died sometime around 1848 because someone sent me a partial list of his "Final return" dated Sept 4, 1848. Lucinda then married another Robinson, James, (maybe a brother), on Jun 13, 1840 in Jasper County, GA. and her children with Rias were given into custody of the oldest child, Frances Robinson Reeves. The other children were: Mary Ann Robinson, John James Robinson, William L Robinson, and Saphronia Rias Robinson.

SAPPINGTON, Joshua Starr
I am looking for information on my ancestor Joshua Starr Sappington. I believe he was born abt. 1824 or before in GA and died in 1912 in GA (likely Troup Co).
He was married to Susannah Whaley on April 19, 1848 in Randolph Co, GA. They had several children who were born in Troup Co, one of which was my great great grandmother Cordelia Sappington (1853-1882). Cordelia married Seth Floy Lambert in 1874 and lived out her life in Troup County, where she is buried in Bethel Church Cemetery.
Clues exist which lead me to believe Joshua Starr Sappington was a physician. I am particularly looking for documentation regarding this. If you can provide any information or suggest resources for further research, I will be tremendously grateful. I wonder if the Troup County historical/genealogy society might have resources or whether the newspaper archives might have an obituary that would help me in my search.
