Screven County Georgia Family Bios The following courtesy of Brenda Moulder. Solomon Gross Jr. it looks like he moved from North Carolina to Jasper, Co. and got 150 acres in Screven, Co. GA. in 1794 maybe in the land lottery to begin with, then in 1796 bought 600 acres. Then John Robert Gross in 1805 bought 350 acres. John Robert as far as I can find out died in an unknown battlefield during the Civil War. After he died his father Ellison Gross, Solomons son, raised his sons  Gustavus Adolphus Gross, Reuben Presley, and Charles Monroe.
