State of Georgia  ]  Know all men by these
Oglethorpe County ] presents.  That Thaddeus R. Watkins and Joseph H. P. Colquitt duly Constituted Administrators of the Estate, Both real and personal of William H. Colquitt late of said County Deceased, by virtue of an Order of the Court of Ordinary of Oglethorpe County, granted at the regular (page 202) regular April Term, Eighteen hundred and Seventy One of said Court ( notice of application for said order having been previously published in terms of the law after advertising The Same for sale in terms of the law did on the first Tuesday in December Eighteen hundred and Seventy One within the legal hours of Sale, put up And expose for sale, at public out-cry, before the Court House door at Lexington In the County of Oglethorpe the Real Estate herein after described when the same Was knocked off to Hopson H. Colquitt of the County of Oglethorpe being the Highest and best bidder , at the price of Nineteen hundred & twenty Dollars.

Now for and in Consideration of the said sum of Nineteen hundred & twenty Dollars, cash in hand paid by the said Hopson H. Colquitt ( the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged ) the said Thaddeus R. Watkins & Joseph H. P. Colquitt as Administrators as aforesaid, have granted, bargained and Sold And do, by these Presents, grant, bargain and sell (so far as the office of Administrators and authorize them) unto the said Hopson H. Colquitt the following described Real Estate, to wit;  a Tract of land Containing 6523/4 Acres more or less-Beginning at Post Oak N. 15E 42:50.-Red Oak S.63-W18-50-Water Oak. S. 16-W. 13.00 Flint Rock N. 65.-W.-11-54  Rock- S. 82-W.-  10.00 Rock- N. 34.E.-2 to Water
Oak- N. 65- W. 7- Wild Cherry- S. 40 W. 21-50 Rock & due S. 511/2 E. : 5-5 Sweet Gum- South 7.E. 13-50 Rock-S. 52 E. 29: 29.60.- Ash- S.311/2 W. 12: 00 Sweet Gum from Black Gum Corner on Lexington Road S. 62.E. 61.50 taking Lexington Road at Black Gum & following the Road  to Black Jack. N. 75. W. 42- Post Oak- N. W. 85-8 to stake-Due West 14 ch. To Red Oak- N. 80-W.29-to beginning Corner-  to have and to hold the same, together with all the rights, members and appurtenances thereunto belonging, unto the said Hopson H. Colquitt his Heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as the same was Seized & Possessed and enjoyed by the said William H. Colquitt at the time of his death ( page 203 )
