Saint Peter Rock Church Cemetery (African-American)
By Larry Childs
This cemetery coming from Macon
Ga. is located in Monroe County near the intersection of State Highway 87 and State
route 18 going towards Jackson Ga. Once you reach the
intersection of the two state routes continue towards
Jackson Ga. about one mile the cemetery is on the right
side of the road.
There was once a old white Church building that once
stood there on top of the hill with the cemetery mainly going down
the hill away from the Church Building and small section
on to the left of the area where the church once stood.
The
cemetery was cleared a few years ago but is now overgrown in places about four feet
high. It is still in use
toady with scattered spots being kept cleaned. There
is an un known number of unmarked burials throughout the cemetery.
This is a complete survey of
the marked Burials.
