On April 15, 1918 after date I promise to pay T.H. Whimpy (marked out) ?(first name) Tate, the sum of Twinty five Dolers to Be maid April 13, 1918. The balance pad May 15, 1918.
Gray Mair a bout 12 years old, Mama Malley Kn. as the sisah Jarrad Mair this day purchased from him, the title of said property remaining in the said T.H. Whimpy[marked out] W.H.C. Tate until the same is fully paid for. It is expressly understood that said poperty is sold by the said T.H.Whimpy[marked out] W.H.C. Tate and accepted by the undersigned without warranty whatsoever except as to title and the right of the said T.H. Whimpy[marked out] to sell and in case of death thereof. I agree to sustain the loss. And waive especially homestead and exemption therein and generally in all other property now owned and hereafter aquired by ? This note to bear interest at eight per cent per annum, the same to be computed from date.

This appears to be a promissory note by J.A. Anderson for property purchased from T.H. Wimpy. The note was apparently then transferred to W.H.C. Tate. -- (Dan Pierce)
