This 400 page book contains a listing of over 1650 surnames from 1810 to 1980. This listing contains approximately 124 family cemeteries and 69 church or city cemeteries. This book was originally published in 1980 and was reprinted in 1986 with additions. The book up for sale is a 2008 reprint. No names were added since the 1986 reprint. Complete information is given for each entry: name of bride or groom, "colored" if indicated on the record, book and page where filed; and a column identifying if an "original" license is on file in the Jackson County Courthouse. Arranged alphabetically by grooms and by brides. Samples of various marriage licenses, marriage returns, and vital statistic forms are included.

The Southern Watchman, Athens, Georgia, Civil War Home Front Coverage, 1861-1865.  This publication furnishes abstracts and transcriptions from The Southern Watchman newspaper during the Civil War period, including many rosters of various companies in NE Georgia, casualty lists of dead, wounded and missing soldiers, and articles showing how the war affected those people remaining on the home front.   There are many obituaries, some marriages, and miscellaneous articles, mostly dealing with living conditions, i.e., shortages of salt, escalated prices of food and other necessities, farm products, etc. This is an excellent book for genealogists, historians, or others who might want to learn more about how the Civil War affected Georgia citizens. Two indexes: personal name index and a subject/place index. Includes a list of abbreviations, photos of some of Georgia’s heroes, etc. 8˝ x 11", 586 + xiv = 600 pages, hardbound  - $42.00.

Wilkes County (Washington), GA, Newspaper Abstracts, 1802, 1805-1809
- The Monitor newspaper, published in Washington, Wilkes County, was one of the earliest newspapers in the northeast section of Georgia. Abstracts include personal ads, sales of property, notices regarding  administrations of estates, death and marriage notices , letters remaining in the post office in Washington, sheriff's sales, tax collector's sales, election returns, and any other articles of interest that named the loc al citizens, and a few on the National level. Notice s and articles from many other Georgia counties were sent to this newspaper. The families are indexed by household number, enabling the researcher to use the index when going back to the original rolls of microfilm. 561 surnames are listed.
