If you visit town, don't miss the wonderful new 1:16 scale model
of the picturesque 175-room
Lithia Springs Hotel, rendered under the aegis
of acclaimed local polymath
Bud Jones, using photos and the original blueprints,
and unveiled during the summer of 2009 at the
West Georgia Museum of Tallapoosa. The model
is surrounded by carved wooden figurines designed by folk artist
Don Smith and is the centerpiece of an exhibit collecting
authentic artifacts from this now-gone epochal landmark.
