Cleveland Serviceman’s

Funeral Slated

 

  Funeral services for Staff Sergeant Solomon Holloway, 34, US Air Force, Cleveland will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Mountain View Baptist Church.

  Sgt. Holloway died in an Air Force hospital in Japan on February 12.

  Remains will arrive in Gainesville from Japan this afternoon.

  Sgt. Holloway attended public school in Lumpkin County where he was born. He was a saw miller prior to entering the service. He had been in Japan a year.

  Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Mandy Edge Holloway, Cleveland; two sons, Solomon Holloway and Thomas Holloway of Cleveland; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Holloway, Flowery, six brothers, Bill Holloway, Cleveland route 2; Speer Holloway, North Carolina; Jim Holloway, Stone Mountain. Oliver Holloway, Flowery Branch; Ollis Holloway, Augusta, and Harrison Holloway, Gainesville.

   Ward’s Funeral Home of Cleveland will be in charge of arrangements

Sylvia Holloway

 

   GAINESVILLE – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (May 10) from Mountain View Baptist Church in White County for Sylvia Holloway, 21, Brown’s Bridge Road.

   The Rev. Claude Hood will officiate.

   Mr. Holloway died today at Hall County Hospital following an auto wreck Sunday. 

   He was born in White County but had lived in Hall County for 13 years. He was a poultry farmer and attended Hall County Schools.

   Survivors are his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bill C. Holloway, Gainesville route 2; one brother, Lester Junior Holloway, Chestnut Mountain and a paternal grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Holloway, Clermont. Wards Funeral Home of Gainesville is in charge of arrangements.

William Holloway, 82,

Dies; Rites Set Monday

 

   DAHLONEGA – William Holloway, 82, died at his home at Dahlonega, route 1 Thursday following a long illness.

   Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Hood officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

   Vickers Funeral Home in Dahlonega has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Holloway

 

   LULA – Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Damascus Baptist Church for Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Holloway, 101, of Lula route 1.

   The Rev. Jessie Savage and the Rev. Donny Wilkes will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Clermont.

   Mrs. Holloway, a native of Union County, died yesterday at Lumpkin County Hospital following an extended illness.

   Survivors include six sons, Harrison H. Holloway, Ollie Holloway, both of Toccoa; Bill H. Holloway, Dahlonega; Jim Holloway, Stone Mountain; Speer Holloway, Bessemer, N.C.; Oliver Holloway, Lula; one brother, Harrison Crow, Gainesville; twenty grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

OLLIE J. HOLLOWAY, 75

Toccoa resident

 

   Ollie J. Holloway, 75 of Toccoa, died Friday, June 7, 1996 at Stephens County Hospital following a sudden illness.

   Mr. Holloway was a native of Lumpkin County and had lived in Toccoa for the past ten years. He was a member of the Baptist faith and served in the Army during World War II.

   Survivors include his brothers, Oliver Holloway, Lula; and Harrison Holloway, Toccoa.

   The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

   Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, 1996, in Damascus Baptist Church. The Rev. Jesse Savage will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

   GAINESVILLE – Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. View Baptist Church in White County for Mrs. Lillie Mae Edge Holloway, 59, of Whitemire Drive, Gainesville route 2.

   The Rev. Claude Hood and Jimmy Campbell will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Wards Funeral Home of Gainesville.

   Mrs. Holloway, a lifetime resident of Hall County, died today at the Hall County Hospital following an extended illness. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church for most of her life.

   Survivors include her husband, William C. Holloway, Gainesville route 2, one son, Lester Junior Holloway, Gainesville route 2; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Hooper, Winder; Mrs. J. Y. Truelove, Mrs. Marion Turpin, both of Gainesville; two brothers, Charlie Edge, Bartow Edge, both of Cleveland.
