Henry C. Pack, age 84, a well-known resident of Ranger,
passed away suddenly Thursday, December 25, at the residence.
He was born in Pickens County, November 22, 1885, son of the
late Andy and Martha Silvers Pack. He spent most of his
life in Gordon County. He was a retired farmer and a
Baptist. Mr. Pack is survived by his wife, the former
Thaley Cronon; eight daughters, Mrs. W. H. Lawson
of Cleveland, Tennessee, Mrs. Otto Black of Calhoun,
Mrs. Jewel Watkins of Trion, Mrs. Paul Newman,
Mrs. Clyde Bingham and Mrs. Lois Dennison, all of
Dalton, Mrs. Emilo Castoillo, of Sante Fe Springs,
California, and Mrs. William Wilkens of Norwalk,
California; five sons, Ben Pack, Cecil Pack, J. L., Jerry
and Gery Pack, all of Ranger, and PFC Travis Pack
of Ft. McPherson; four sisters, Mrs. M. A. Hightower,
Mrs. Nettie Johnson, both of Ranger, Mrs Betty McDaniel
of Ludville and Mrs. Beulah Williams of Dalton; two
brothers, John Pack and George Pack of
Chatsworth; 38 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral
services for Mr. Pack were held Saturday, December 27, at 2
p.m. from the Liberty Baptist Church near Ranger, with the
Rev. Sam Bryan officiating. Music was arranged by Mable
Harris, Mary Wilson and Iris Parker. Grandsons
served as pallbearers. Burial was in the family lot of the
Liberty Cemetery.

February 25, 1969; an infant son, February 15, 1925; a son,
Elbert Carter Pack, July 26, 1949.
