  Gordon County was created February 13, 1850. It was organized from parent counties, Floyd and Cass (later Bartow) Counties.
  Gordon County's boundaries were changed many times between 1852 and 1877. If you are researching persons from that area during that time period you might try looking in Cass (Bartow), Floyd, Murray, Pickens, and Walker counties.
