Baker Jacob & Nancy Trimble Redwine came from Franklin County, GA. Nancy was a charter member of Mt. Gilead Methodist Church. Jacob later joined and both are buried in the cemetery there. Jacob & Nancy had a son William Redwine, who became a United States Congressman. Another son, James (Jimmy) O Redwine, know as Capatin Jimmy, served in the Civil Ward as a confederated Captain. He died in Haralson County, GA. a son Thomas became a doctor, and a grandaughter married Melville S. McGee, the grandson of J. M. Smith. Additional Comments: Jacob Alonzo Redwine married Sarah Kleckley Derrick from Hampton, GA, daughter of Andrew and Catherine Kleckley Derrick. I am descended thru this Derrick line. Sarah is my great aunt. There is a Redwine Rd., off Fairburn Rd., in Ben Hill, GA named for the Redwine Family that lived in the Ben Hill area. There is a Redwine Lake still there, although it is now cut off from traffic as it had become a bad area for disposing of garbage and other things. Redwine Rd. is located close to Mt. Gilead Church on Fairburn Rd.
