Forsyth County - Deeds & Property

Deeds & Property

Material on this page from Donna Parrish Records

Forsyth County lies in what was originally the First, Second, Third, and Fourteenth Districts of Section 1 of Old Cherokee County.

First Section of (old) Cherokee County

District 3 - 1296 lots
District 2 - 1276 lots
District 1 - 513 lots
District 14 - 1417 lots

Many lots in the 1st, 2nd and 14th districts were fractional lots where they bordered the Chattahoochee River. All lots except the fractional lots were about 40 acres.

In 1857 when Milton County was formed most of District 1 and part of District 2 went to the new county.

In the 1950's, when Buford Dam was built, the resulting lake flooded many of the lots in District 14.
