Obsequies for Mrs. Elizabeth Hill-Tyson.

Mrs. Elizabeth Lucille Tyson departed this life on Saturday morning - October 25, 1975. She was born in Floyd County, Georgia - February 21, 1916, the second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hill. Mrs. Tyson spent most of her adult life (about thirty-six years) in Chicago, Illinois. She received her education in the Rome City Schools and, after moving to Chicago, she was employed at Montgomery Ward as Managerial Personnel, where she served twenty-seven years. Sister Tyson joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Rome at the age of nine and later became a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Chicago, of with the Reverend Jones is Pastor. In both of these churches she worked faithfully through the years, being an active leader in many of the church organizations. Her entire life was devoted to Christ. In the late 1930s Elizabeth was married to the late Roy Ways, who preceded her in death a number of years ago. In 1965, she was married to Mr. James Tyson of Chicago. Elizabeth was a devoted wife and an ardent Christian woman. She was friendly and outgoing. She loved people. Sister Tyson is survived by a loving husband, James Tyson; one brother, Clarence Hill of Akron, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Katherine Trammell of Rome; four sisters-in-law; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Interment Oakland Cemetery.
